Nearly 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the region, producing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage
Homeowners observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around one thousand households in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At the height on the previous day, over 28,000 electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where comparable situations led to major medical consequences in the area.
